I'm really proud of how this book turned out. Vain and the gang's adventures are that perfect mix of fun silliness coupled with heart-pounded terror that readers of the Hotel have come to expect. Vain is as off-the-wall as ever and even though she doesn't get to punch anyone with a tire iron, she still does get to punch people. I think you're going to love it.
There's always this feeling of deflation after finishing a huge project. I've been working on this book since around November of last year. It's gone through multiple revisions. I've added parts, while taking a bunch of parts out. Seriously, it's been my main writing focus for nearly a year, and it's weird to not be working on it.
So, what's next?
Well, a few things. First, I'm taking some time off the Hotel, at least until September. I want to go after book 3 with fresh eyes. I'm going to spend the rest of the summer working on short stories and playing around with different genres.
