Howdy, Hotel fans.
Quick aside. I have never once in my entire life said 'howdy', and I don't know why I typed it. But hey, that's writing for you. Sometimes, you type howdy. I'm sure there's a deeper meaning there.
I normally like to have some kind of theme on these updates, so today's theme is me not really having a consistent narrative theme. In other words, it's a grab bag.
It's been a busy spring. In no particular order, here's what's been going on.
Book 2 of the Hotel is out for editing. My brilliant editor is about halfway through the manuscript and I'm so excited for the way it's turning out. In future newsletters, I'll reveal exclusive sneak peeks.
Speaking of Book 2, I bet you're all wondering what it's called. I am about two weeks away from a cover reveal. Gang, this cover is going to blow your mind. It's so good. Once again, I've partnered with the brilliant designers at Damonza and they've outdone themselves
I'm working on an audiobook for book 1! I have no idea when this will be ready, but I can't wait to get it out there.
In other, non-Hotel news, I've had a few exciting writing-related wins over the past few months.
I'm going to be interviewed on a Podcast! This is maybe my favorite piece of news. The "3 book girls" podcast reached out. Apparently, they read my book and enjoyed it and now they want to interview me. I've listened to a bunch of their shows, they are hilarious and their book reviews are on point. It's worth your time to listen. The interview is this weekend and I think the podcast will be live sometime in June. I'll keep you updated.
Whew! So yeah, it's been a pretty busy spring. Lots of fun stuff happening with more to come in the future.
I'd like to finish with a couple of suggestions of what you can read next, some great picks to get you through the days. Stay safe everyone!
A wonderful collection of short stories by up-and-coming writers. I find short stories are very much my jam, now. Most of these are only a couple of pages long and make for great reading when you only have small bites of time.
I'm just starting this one. I watched the movie a few weeks ago and was so enchanted by the ideas in the movie that I had to go back to the source. It's about a zombie outbreak that spreads via language. The movie is wonderful.
Have you heard of this one? It's pretty good. It's about Hotels.
